  Louie Herron's Bio

Born and reared in Hollywood, Florida, it was my aspiration to one day play college football, hoping that my athletic ability would be my launching pad to the NFL. I knew sometimes that our hopes and dreams don’t necessary become our reality. So I prepared myself that if I wasn’t drafted to play professional football that, I would become a football coach or teacher, someone who could inspire young people to become the best that they could be.

 

In 1992, I left home to attend college at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. Although, excited, my mind was focused on football, not my education, therefore, jeopardizing my playtime. I watched teammates like, Dwayne Carswell, who played in front of me, be drafted into the NFL and heroically play twelve successful seasons for the Denver Broncos.  After watching Dwayne start, I figured that I needed to transfer to another college if I ever wanted to play on the college level or professionally. It was then, in 1993, I moved to Carrollton, Georgia to attend what was known then as West Georgia College. 

 

At West Georgia College, I was triumphal to play for two and half seasons; although, I didn’t receive a college degree, nor did I get drafted to play professionally, however, during the time I attended West Georgia College, I was fortunate to gain employment at Lowe’s, loading trucks on the midnight shift and waiting tables at Chili’s during the day. In 1995, what would be my final summer attending West Georgia College, I began selling cars to cover my monthly expenses, igniting a passion that would change my life forever. As a new car salesman, I enjoyed going to work and had a strong drive to make a difference in the auto industry. With fresh eyes, I was able to see serious weaknesses in the industry and at the local dealership where I was employed. I have to admit, though, early on, I didn’t know much about the car business and watched how consumers were being treated, making me wonder, if customers are expected to come back, we should do things different.  It was then that my small vision took flight. I knew going forward, in ten minutes or less, I wanted to provide consumers a bottom line price, upfront interest rates, warranty coverage that was legitimate with no misleading clauses, and an internet department that delivered car purchases to our consumers. The car delivery idea was launched to various previous employers, but no one took my idea seriously, and some managers even laughed at the concept.

 

Such treatment, although, petty and trivial, made me more determined and more focused to make Louie Herron Toyota, a reality. I knew I wanted my own dealership, with my own brand of passionate, customer-driven, employees, who would provide world class service, without compromising their integrity or character for no one—ever!  My personal faith was the true reason that Louie Herron Toyota of Milledgeville has become a reality. I’m so honored to be a part of the Milledgeville, Georgia community, and its surrounding areas. My goal is to become the community’s choice for providing world class service with every vehicle purchase or service.
